Relief trip to Mississippi D.A.R.T. is comprised of eight specialized teams that work together to meet organizational objectives. If you are interested in joining a team or would like more information on a team, please visit the contact page and check the appropriate team(s).

 Public Information Team

  • All press releases, media exposure, and public relations
  • Informational documents released to the general public
 Safety Team
  • All safety aspects of the organization
  • All training, certifications, and continuing education related to the safety of the organization's members
  • Safety training of other individuals outside the organization if so requested
 Community Liaison Team
  • Liaison with federal and local government agencies such as fire depts., search & rescue, police, mayor, medical, etc.
  • Liaison with other similar relief agencies (Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc.)
 Communications Team
  • Establishing and maintaining all communications between the Emergency operations Center (EOC) and response teams, and between team members
  • Establishing and maintaining all communications between the EOC and governmental (police, fire/rescue, medical, etc.) agencies, and other relief organizations.
 Finance Team
  • Obtain financial and material donations to financially sustain the organization
  • Market the non-profit organization to businesses and other private organizations
  • Obtain federal, state, county, city and other grants and funds available to operate the organization
  • Keep all accounting records of the organization as required by governing authorities and agencies
  • Purchase all materials and services required to support the organization
 Logistics Team
  • Develop warehousing and transportation for first response support efforts
  • Work with Planning and Operations to develop procedures and establish EOC and Point Of Distribution (POD)
  • Transport response teams and supporting materials/supplies/equipment to EOC/POD area(s)
  • Work with Community Liaison to network continuous flow of manpower and supplies to POD for teams and distribution
  • Maintain support equipment in working order and in a quick response mode
 Operations Team
  • Perform light search and rescue response efforts
  • Establish medical triage areas
  • Work with Logisitics to provide medical transport
  • Provide comfort and aid to survivors in need
  • Apply light fire suppression techniques when needed
  • Debris removal
  • Provide assistance with demolition/construction in disaster areas
  • Work closely with Safety to provide proper training and continuing education in emergency response techniques for Operations personnel
  • Provide security protection for all sections responding to a disaster situation
 Planning Team
  • Develop, refine and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the organization - all sections
  • Develop, refine and update, and put into practice an Execution Plan for initiating and implementing first response efforts and disaster preparedness
  • When in response mode, plan for daily and weekly wants, needs and anticipated direction of the response teams
  • Coordinate planning with other responding organizations
  • When responding, coordinate field planning with Community Liaison section, 60 monitor and report weather conditions
  • Record and document all organizational meetings, daily response reporting and planning, procedures, bylaws, covenants, etc.
  • Assume responsibility for all general administrative duties within the organization
